What is the ABNT NBR IEC 60079 standard?

The ABNT NBR IEC 60079-17 standard, Explosive Atmospheres – Part 17: Inspection and Maintenance of Electrical Installations, is intended for companies that use equipment and installations in areas with explosive atmospheres, as well as for “Ex” service companies. It directly addresses the factors related to the inspection and maintenance of electrical installations in classified areas, where there is a risk due to the presence of flammable gases or combustible dust.
